[Tutorial] Jade Garden Make-Up Tutorial

Hey darlin'! As I posted in Tutorial Preview, I was thinking of posting a look that goes with the theme of Fall and I said I came up with this copperish brown look called "Trip to El Dorado".

However, I erased all photos by mistake and decided to post a new make-up tutorial named
"Jade Garden".

Step 1
Apply any eye primer all over your eyelids (I used Urban Decay Primer Potion).
This step is optional but it helps your eyeshadows to last longer.

Primer Potion definitely gives a natural and flawless look to your eyes with the small amount of use.

Step 2
Take Missha Silky Shadow Duo in #16  and apply Glam to the inner corners of your eyes and blend it  gently towards the centre of your eyelids.

Step 3
Take MAC's Woodwinked and apply it to the outer corners of your eyes.
The picture is not really showing the distinction between the two but when you apply it to your eyelids, you can tell the difference in shade between Woodwinked and Missha's orange shade.
Blend it gently towards the centre of your eyelids.

Step 4
Take Missha Silky Duo Eyeshadow in #16 once again but apply Khaki where Woodwinked was applied. Woodwinked was used not only as a guideline to know where to apply khaki (so that it would minimize the possibility of failure) but also to create that nice emerald-jade shade with gold shimmer. Blend it gently with Woodwinked and then with Glam as well (don't blend it all the way to the inner corners of your eyes!)

I first applied very little of the Khaki...

and then intensified the shade afterwards (sorry the lighting changed!)

Step 5
Don't apply any blush since the centre of attention needs to focus onto the eyes, not cheeks.
For the lips, I wore lip balm and Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in #750 Kiss Me Coral.

Hello there, my crushed lipstick!
Anyways, gently blot it (yes, don't apply it as you usually do but blot it so that very little amount of the lipstick would be applied. Then, blend it to your lips so that it looks very natural but not to the point where you look sick.

And this is the final look...!

I hope you enjoyed my tutorial and please follow me if interested in further product reviews and tutorials. Thank you!

[L'Oreal] Color Infalliable Eyeshadow in 009 Permanent Kaki

As a treat for myself for sacrificing my weekend to GRE prep course, I tested out and purchased L'Oreal's Color Infalliable in 009 Permanant Kaki. But...

Are you serious? I really wanted to get rid of this khaki sticker on the lid. It makes the eyeshadow look 100 times cheaper than tis price while it is $5 cheaper than a MAC eyeshadow! L'Oreal, I seriously advise you to take it off! Engrave it like the L'Oreal mark on the side of the lid. Print it directly on the lid. Seriously, do something about it!

Now, the back of the eyeshadow is rather cute, even better than the ones at MAC's.

This is the look of Color Infalliable eyeshadow. This has very warm khaki tone but works for both warm tone and cool tone.

Don't you have think this is a dupe of Chanel's Illusion D'Ombre in Epatant? I'll show the comparison between the two, but in the mean time, let's discuss the pro's and con's.

For PROS,
-  009 Permanant Kaki is  a really wearable shade at an inexpansive cost .
The whole collection of Color Infalliable does. I didn't buy the other shades because they weren't working for me and there were only five shades available from Shopper's Drug Store (at least from where I went). However, there are a huge range of shades unlike other drugstore selections on the website.

- They are velvety and smooth.
It's not like Illusion D'Ombre's moist and creamy but rather soft and velvety. It's still feels like Illusion D'Ombre though. The shade has amazing metallic sheen to it that is not overexaggerated.

For CONS,
- The eyeshadow doesn't last long and doesn't stand friction too well
Because the eyeshadow is made out of pressed powder, it doesn't last as long as Illusion D'Ombre. Well, I guess the price differentiation really matters after all.

- The pot ( that's worth $12 + tax ) is too small and design looks cheap
This eyeshadow is $5 cheaper than MAC eyeshadows but it's the pot is too shallow and contains very little product.

But other than that, I'm pretty fond of the shade and the eyeshadow overall :D

[Review] Maybelline's Volum'Express Mascara

Hey everyone! I couldn't post anything because of school and GRE (Asian side crept out of me once again) but I decided to post a review since I would not be available to do ANYTHING other than studying for GRE for the whole weekend.... so here is my review on Maybelline's the Colossal Volum'Express Mascara.

Warning: Before I begin, I must say that I have super-straight hair (I know this sounds super random but you gotta listen!) Whenever I go to hair salon, even Asian hair professionals ask me whether I got Japanese straightening perm and my answer was "no". Many are jealous by this fact but I loathe my super-straight hair because MY EYELASHES ARE STRAIGHT TOO. Yes. I'm soooooooooo jealous of caucasians and my boyfriend who has super long and gorgeously curled lashes. What I wanted to say was that, in terms of the curling effect, I cannot be the best person to give a sincere advice since I haven't found a single mascara that would help me curl my lashes (please give me some advice in terms of mascara selection with perfect curling effect!).

Now, I wasn't happy about the fat yellow packaging and disappointed about the traditional fiber-type brissel (as if I thought it might have a rectangular brissel hahaha :P). However, this was more worth it than my Lancome Hypnose mascara for sure.

This is my eye before curling my lashes. Each lash is straight without slight bit of curl, so my lashes don't look like I have any lash at all when somebody looks straight at me.

Now, this is with the lashes curled (used Shu Uemura Eyelash Curler). You can now tell that I do have eyelashes after all. And... they are pretty long. However, they look think and weak.

To begin, I have to say that it lengthens and volumizes my lashes at very inexpansive and affordable cost. My lashes looked thick and powerful. They are long and well-seperated. I would say one coat of mascara was not enough but two coats can create drama.

However, it clumps a bit and becomes really flaky. As you can tell from the picture above, it flaked soon after it was apllied. It isn't waterproof either. As it promised to volumize, the volume with one stroke was not enough.

And... after all... my lashes looked flat and straight after three hours but I think it's just me. Anyways, I would rank this as one of the best (if not, the best) mascara I've seen so far!

Anyways, I hope this review was helpful and please leave a comment or question and follow me on twitter for more information!

I was going to get rid of my Dior Blue Denim but then my brother made smiley faces on them! It was soooooo adorable and well-done so I decided to keep them.

[Review Preview] Fall-esque Eyeshadows

Hey everyone! As you may have seen from my latest haul, I purchased three eyeshadows from MAC: Bronze, Woodwinked, and Amberlights. All of these eyeshadows, especially woodwinked, are well-known eyeshadows but I found some conflicting views as supposed to what other bloggers have said so I decided to post a review on these eyeshadows. Please stay tuned for a complete review :)
